Essaouira, formerly called Mogador, is located on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. Inhabited discontinuously since Antiquity by the Phoenicians, by the Berbers, then by the Romans, it was not until the 16th century that the site was actually occupied by the Portuguese, who built a fortress and walls there. The true foundation of the city of Essaouira will be the fact of Sultan Mohammed ben Abdallah, who began its construction from 1760, and carried out an original experience by entrusting it to several renowned architects, with the mission of building a city adapted to the needs of foreign merchants. Once built, Essaouira continues to grow and experience a golden age and exceptional development. becoming the most important commercial port in the country but also its diplomatic capital between the end of the 18th century and the first half of the 19th century. It is also becoming a multicultural and artistic city. It is nicknamed "the pearl of the Atlantic." Essaouira medina is a UNESCO world heritage site since 2001.

This is the queen's test! Reserved for experienced trail runners who have already participated in long-distance nature runs. The Essaouira Mogador Ultra Trail is a semi-autonomous race in the middle of nature, both rolling and highly technical, with a positive drop of more than 1000m. Participants will take the Marathon Trail to Tagenza, heading inland to Sidi Ahmed Essayeh Beach, along tracks surrounded by adobe walls, passing through isolated villages and discovering argan tree fields. They will even have the opportunity to meet unexpected supporters such as donkeys, goats and camels who are used to the area. Then return along the ridge overlooking the magnificent coves and cliffs, discover the famous Sidi Mbark waterfalls, cross the wadis, the mimosas and eucalyptus forest,
You can also choose other distances such as the marathon or the half marathon and they all run through a unique landscape.
